JotMind Terms of Service

Last updated: July 6, 2026 · Applies to the JotMind apps by Sanbit

The short version: JotMind is a voice-notes app that runs on your device. You own your notes and can export them anytime. We give you a personal license to use the app — the app itself belongs to Sanbit. It's provided as is, and Sanbit runs no server that stores your content. Use it lawfully, and these terms explain the rest.

1. Acceptance

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and Sanbit ("we", "us") covering your use of the JotMind application and its updates (the "App"). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App. These Terms also incorporate the applicable App Store terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. License to use JotMind

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal use, subject to these Terms. This is a license to use the App — it does not transfer any ownership of the App to you.

3. On-device by design; no content servers

JotMind is built to run on your device. Speech recognition, AI organizing, and search happen locally, and by default nothing you record, say, or write leaves your phone. Sanbit does not operate any server that stores or processes your notes, recordings, or transcripts. Because your content lives only on your device, keeping it safe — including via your own device backups — is up to you. See the Privacy Policy for details.

4. No account required

JotMind has no account system and no sign-up. You don't create credentials with us, and we don't hold a profile for you. That also means we can't recover data for you — there's nothing on our side to recover.

5. Your content is yours

You retain all rights to the recordings, transcripts, notes, and other content you create in JotMind ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership of it and no license to it. You can export Your Content at any time (for example, as Markdown or text files) using the App's Export feature, and take it wherever you like. You are responsible for Your Content and for having the right to record and store it.

6. Acceptable use

Please use JotMind lawfully. You agree not to:

7. Intellectual property

The App — including its software, design, name, logo, and "JotMind" branding — is owned by Sanbit and protected by intellectual-property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers those rights to you beyond the limited license in Section 2. "JotMind" and "Sanbit" are marks of Sanbit.

8. Optional model downloads (third parties)

The App's default AI models ship inside it and work offline. If you choose to download an additional or alternative model, the App fetches those files from third-party sources — such as Hugging Face or the hf-mirror content delivery network. Those downloads are governed by the terms and licenses of the respective source and model, not by us. We don't control those services, and we make no warranty about the models or their availability. Downloads only happen when you explicitly tap Download.

9. Pricing

The App may be offered as a one-time purchase and/or, in the future, with an optional subscription (for example, to enable sync). Prices, plans, and what's included may change over time, and any paid features will be clearly described at the point of purchase. Purchases are processed by Apple's App Store under its terms and refund policies. Nothing here promises any particular price, plan, or feature.

10. "As is" — no warranty

The App is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI-generated summaries, transcripts, or organization will be accurate. JotMind is a tool to help you capture and organize your own thoughts — always verify anything important against the original recording. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sanbit will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the App. Since your content lives only on your device, we are not responsible for any loss of Your Content. To the extent we are ever found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months before the claim (or, if the App was free to you, to USD 0). Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Material changes will be highlighted where practical. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using JotMind at any time by uninstalling it, which removes the App and its local data from your device. We may suspend or end your license if you materially breach these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive — ownership, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by [Governing law / jurisdiction — to be filled by founder], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. This section is a placeholder pending finalization.
